A DAY IN THE LIFE.png

REGISTER & VISIT

  • We start with visiting the elderly registered in our system, doing house visits to their homes or cottages ensuring that they are okay, most of the elderly we deal with live on their own and its always a concern that they had a good evening and that nobody got injured, fallen etc.

MEDICAL ACCESS

  • Another huge problem is that all the elderly we deal with do not have transport. We then take them to government hospitals, sit the day with them waiting to see doctors and getting their medications etc.

  • Removal of elderly often happens from abusive family members and emergency intervention takes place.

FOOD ASSISTANCE

  • With the help of some volunteers, we drop off daily cooked meals so that we are ensured that they have one nutritious meal for the day.

  • Once a week, if we receive donations, we supply them with cereal, sugar, tea, milk, cup of soup, spread, margarine, bread and toiletries.

ACCESS TO GRANTS & INSTITUTIONS

  • We assist those who need to go to SASSA offices and Government departments to get their pensions and documents in order to enable them to receive much needed SASSA pensions.

  • We deal with various institutions assisting to get the elderly relocated to government funded homes and tracking down family who need to take accountability of their parents etc.
